The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) Sub-Regional Coordinator and FAO Representative for Vanuatu Mr. Guangzhou QU presented his credentials this morning to the Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation & External Trade, Hon. Xavier Harry Iauko. The Hon. Minister in accepting Mr. Qu's credentials, welcomed him to Vanuatu and congratulated him on his appointment as FAO Sub-Regional Coordinator and FAO Representative for Vanuatu.
The Hon. Minister and Mr. Qu exchanged views on the Partnership between the Vanuatu Government and FAO, the United Nations largest agency in terms of scope and impact, in combating hunger and malnutrition and to strengthen collaboration in the Agriculture, Fisheries and Climate Change Sectors.
Mr. QU will also be meeting with the Hon. Minister of Agriculture, Livestock, Forestry and Biosecurity where he will hand out Emergency Earthquake Recovery supplies, the Hon. Minister of Ocean, Fisheries and Maritime Boundaries, the Hon. Minister of Climate Change and a courtesy visit to the Hon. Prime Minister later today before returning to Samoa tomorrow where the FAO Sub-Regional Office is located.
